Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte believes his team ‘found fire in our eyes’ as the Blues secured a remarkable 3-2 win in the visit to Southampton.
The Blues were lacklustre for the large majority of the match and the hosts made the champions pay, going 2-0 up midway into the second half.
Thanks to Oliver Giroud’s impact coming off the bench in scoring twice along with Eden Hazard’s strike, Chelsea avoided another humiliating league defeat this season.
When speaking to reporters after the match, Antonio Conte is quoted by ESPN, insisting that Chelsea put on a second half show at St Mary’s.
Another tough test is on its way for Conte and his men as we prepare for the trip to high-flying Burnley on Thursday.
It’s fantastic to see that there is some fight in this Chelsea team as we hope to end what’s been a turbulent season, on a spirited note.
